George Agafi, founder and director of the festival, invited Melhem Zein, Moeen Shreif and George Al Safi to sing the best of Wadee Al Safi’s songs.
They performed with the orchestra under the maestro Feras Hazim. Then Wadee Al Safi stood on the stage himself and sang, at 80, adding another chapter to the story of Agafi’s nights.
Afterwards he studied the Agafi trophy and asked what it meant and who had sculpted it. Moeen Shreif told him the story behind it.
